Joaquín became part of the MET team in 2018 and is involved in the development and production of 3D clinically relevant test systems for vasculature from aortic arch to intracranial arteries.
He obtained his M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineer in 2011 in the University of Vigo. Following he joined the LaserON Research Group (Vigo, Spain) and completed his M.Sc. in advanced technologies and processes for the industry (2012). He has 7 years of experience in different R&D projects related with laser applications for industry, from which he acquired expertise in laser technology and materials science. Joaquín started his PhD in 2013 (Vigo), during which he was temporarily working as a researcher at the Queen´s University of Belfast (2015), in the innovative molecular materials group, for the production of CO2 filters made of nanofibers. In 2017, he finished his PhD on the development of a new technique for the production of glass nanofibers by laser. He is coauthor of twelve peer reviewed publications and one patent.
