The recently established Data Science Research Group in GMIT focuses on six key areas for research and innovation: Visualisation, the Internet of Things, Security & Privacy, Modelling & Design, Analytics and Bioinformatics. Over €110,000 in Enterprise Ireland funded projects (5K and 10K vouchers) have been carried out over the last three years. The aim of the group is to consolidate research and innovation within the department, foster collaborations and to inform teaching.
