MET Technology Gateway Joins Horizon Europe COMPLIANCE4DPP Project
MET Technology Gateway at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is proud to be a key partner in COMPLIANCE4DPP, a major Horizon Europe project focused on Digital Product Passports, regulatory compliance and trusted data sharing.
As part of the project, MET will lead Work Package 2, giving the Gateway a significant leadership role within the European consortium.
The three-year project began in June 2026 and brings together universities, research organisations, technology providers and industrial partners from across Europe.
COMPLIANCE4DPP has a total project value of approximately €9.83 million, with ATU allocated €781,875 in EU funding.
What is COMPLIANCE4DPP?
COMPLIANCE4DPP aims to help manufacturers manage new regulatory, digital and sustainability requirements more efficiently.
The project focuses on Digital Product Passports, also known as DPPs.
A Digital Product Passport provides structured digital information about a product throughout its lifecycle.
This information can include:
• Materials and components
• Manufacturing information
• Product origin
• Sustainability data
• Repairability and recyclability
• Regulatory documentation
• Supply-chain information
• End-of-life information
The aim is to make product information easier to access, verify and share across manufacturing value chains.
Why Digital Product Passports Matter

MET and ATU’s Role
MET Technology Gateway at Atlantic Technological University is playing a key role in COMPLIANCE4DPP.
As part of the project, MET is the leader of Work Package 2.
This gives MET a significant responsibility within the European consortium and places the Gateway at the centre of an important area of project delivery.
Through this leadership role, MET will help coordinate activities across project partners and support the development of practical solutions for industry.
MET will also bring its experience in applied research, manufacturing innovation, digital transformation and direct industry engagement to the project.
Working closely with companies across Ireland gives MET valuable insight into the challenges manufacturers face when adopting new digital technologies and meeting evolving regulatory requirements.
This industry-focused perspective will help ensure that the outputs of COMPLIANCE4DPP are practical, relevant and suitable for real manufacturing environments.
MET’s leadership of Work Package 2 also strengthens ATU’s position within the project and demonstrates the University’s growing role in major European research and innovation programmes.

What Happens Next?
The COMPLIANCE4DPP project will run until May 2029.
Over the coming three years, the consortium will develop and test Digital Product Passport technologies, trusted data-sharing systems and automated compliance tools.
Real-world industrial use cases will be an important part of the project.
MET Technology Gateway will continue to engage with industry throughout the project.
