Business Development Manager Medicinal Nutrition & Sport

Donna holds a BSc (Hons) PGD MSc RNutr and graduated from Ulster University, Coleraine in 2000 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Food Technology Management. She thenworked in the biomedical analysis of food. This lead to an increased interest in nutrition, and in 2005 Donna graduated from Ulster University with a postgraduate diploma (PGD) in Human Nutrition exploring the science of food as it relates to human health. She proceeded to work in the food, education, and health food retail industries and as a consultant nutritionist working with individuals, groups and food businesses.

In 2016 Donna attained a master’s degree (MSc) in Food Regulatory Affairs from Ulster University which integrated science, law and food/health policy as applied to the regulation of the entire food chain. Her research area was nutrition and health claims in Ireland. In 2021, she joined UKVRN as a registered nutritionist specialising in public health and is also a member of the Association for Nutrition and the Nutrition Society. Her unique education and experience has given her a comprehensive knowledge of food and nutrition.

Donna is the Business Development Manager for Medicinal Nutrition at GMIT’s MET Gateway where she operates as the link between GMIT and industry, promoting and coordinating industry training and research projects in the areas of Food Science, Nutrition & Sport.
